The White-winged Parakeet is native to southeast Colombia and the river mouth in Brazil. It was released and established new independent populations in Lima, Peru, Los Angeles, Miami, Florida, the USA, and Puerto Rico. By mid-2000, populations had reached San Francisco and California. These beautiful birds usually find a hole in a tree to build a nest.
